Striving
to Capture
Nature's Magic

Gifts.
Carey has lived by the ocean for most of her life here in New England.
"There's no shortage of big horizons and miraculous sunsets!
These are precious gifts. I've been fortunate to live here and express
this beauty using the abilities I've been given."

Inspiration.
Carey paints realism through her interpretation and her mood of the day;
color and light that's felt and seen.
Be it the familiar energy of the powerful Nor'easter, the intricate light shining

through a lemon slice, a solemn foggy beach, or magenta-red sunset over the
Rye marsh.
"Gardening, fishing, birding, beach walking; inspire more artworks than there's time to
create ... but I'll try!" Carey makes a point to paint, sketch, or sculpt almost daily

How.
Carey uses her photography as a reference for still life and portraiture. Her preference is plein air painting for capturing landscapes with true color and movement.
Her strengths are oil/acrylic paint, soft pastels, colored pencils, dye painting on silk, pen & ink. Summer garden art includes mosaics and driftwood paintings.
